6 Easy Steps to Localize a LevelOne EDM This is our updated tutorial regarding Amaya. They've released a newer version that is stable so please update your software accordingly. As a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) HTML editor, this is a useful tool that allows you to localize our marketing message for your region. This tutorial will show you:
|
Step 1: Download and Install Amaya 10.0. Amaya is a simple, easy to use HTML editor. It is free, open-source, and available in many languages. It is endorsed and promoted by the World Wide Web Consortium. (Please note: DO NOT use Microsoft Word to edit HTML documents. Microsoft adds unnecessary code that will cause the EDM to get blocked and marked as spam.)
|
Step 2: Choose your language in Amaya. (Available in German, English, Spanish, Finnish, French, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Georgian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian, Slovak, Turkish, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese)
Choose your language Now that you have the HTML editor, you can start to localize HTML files you want. |
Step 3: Open the HTML file you want to localize in Amaya to start editing.
Amaya in full view, with document ready for editing. |
Step 4: Edit the body of the document.
|
Step 5: Change the "Unsubscribe" link. (This helps you manage your email list if someone doesn't want to
receive our EDM. You MUST remove them immediately if requested.)
Highlight "Unsubscribe"
Insert your email address Step 6: Change the "Contact us" link by the same procedure as Step 5. (This helps your customers to contact you for any inquiry.) Congratulations, you've successfully localized your first LevelOne EDM! The first one always takes the longest; you'll see how fast and efficient Amaya really is after you do a couple more. |
Sending out the EDM Step 1: Make a new Group* in your email client. *A new Group makes it easy to remove people that want to "Unsubscribe". You won't have to delete them completely from your address book.
|
Step 2: Send the EDM using Internet Explorer Browser* *Make sure Outlook or Outlook Express is the default email program: Go to "Tools" - "Internet Options" - "Programs" to verify the default email program.
